Vape Manufacturer Ignores Signs of Teen Addiction

Vape Manufacturer Ignores Signs of Teen Addiction.

According to a recent Reuters investigation the vape manufacture Juul Labs knew and disregarded indications that teens were attracted to the use of its’ products.  The Reuters investigation is based in part on a former Juul manager’s disclosure.  Juul executives debated whether to take actions to reduce teen use of the company’s products.

According to the FDA, Juul has violated federal law by marketing its’ product as a healthier option to traditional cigarettes.  Also the FDA has issued a new policy statement regarding non-tobacco flavored vape products.  These products clearly target the under 18 market.   Recently the New England Journal of Medicine published an article regarding an inhalation injury to the lungs.  The NEJM article indicates that CDC reported that in August of 2019 there were at minimum 215 acute respiratory distress cases , with at least 2 deaths.  According to the article 80% of people who vaped and became ill reported using nicotine and THC vape pens.

If you, a relative or someone you know suffered a severe lung inhalation injury as a result of using a vape pen you may have a claim against the manufacture and distributor of the product.
