Predator Drone In Civilian Use, Including Law Enforcement?
According to an article in the SF Chronicle there is a push by drone manufactures to seek legislation opening domestic airways to the use of unmanned drones. Currently police, universities and even TMZ have applied for the use of drones. In addition to concerns regarding privacy and unlawful search issues, the FAA states there is a major concern with safety. The drones do not have the ability to detect other aircraft, and could have issues avoiding collisions with other aircraft.
