Governor Brewer Vetoes Statute Expanding Limitation on Licensed Health Care Provider Liability

On April 17, 2014, Governor Brewer vetoed a statute that would extend the protections of A.R.S 32-1471 , to include members of an organized search and rescue team, unit or organization involved in a search and rescue operation from civil liability unless the person is grossly negligent. The Governor veto message was that she perceived the bill as overly broad is it does not define an organized search and rescue team.  The veto does not change or limit the existing Licensed Health Care Provider Liability exemption.
