HB2297 Repeal of Escrow Recovery Fund

One of the bills circulating the legislature this year seeks to repeal the Escrow Recovery Fund.  Upon repeal the Department of Financial Institutions would not longer be required to conduct semiannual suveys of escrow agents.  All monies already in the Escrow Recovery Fund would be transferred to the general fund.   No telling what will happen to any existing claims or claims that accrued prior to the appeal of the law.
