Congressman Earl Blumenauer Introduced A Bill To Federally Legalize Marijuana
The Oregon Democrat introduced the bill in an effort to alleviate the confusion and grey area that is arising between State law and Federal Law on the regulation of marijuana. The bill has thirteen co-sponsors including Republican Dana Rohrabacher (Ca). Currently 18 States plus D.C. have legalized medicinal marijuana in some form. Colorado and Washington have both taken steps to legalize the it completely. While it is not likely that the bill will even make it to the house floor, it at a minimum signifies that some in Congress recognize the growing conflict between State and Federal law on this issue.
